Homayoun Salimi is a painter born in 1327 (Tehran).
He completed his secondary education at Mirk Conservatory in Tabriz and went to France to continue his education. In 1978, he received a bachelor’s degree in painting from the University of Fine Arts in Paris (Bazaar) and in 1990, he graduated from the Sorbonne University in Paris with a PhD in Aesthetics.
He is one of the few Iranian painters who works in the style of geometric abstraction. In his personal style, layers of paint are stacked on top of each other and worn. It is in this covering and abrasion that the hidden identity of the color is revealed, and various and impressive patterns appear by scratching and abrasing the colors.
